For the recipients, the internal network is one of the biggest advantages of the Right Livelihood Award.
As Laureate Frances Moore-Lappé (1987, USA) said, the powerful impact of the Award is that it “enables the Laureates to become aware of each other and to learn directly from each other”.
In order to facilitate networking among Right Livelihood Award Laureates, the Foundation organises anniversary conferences every five years. In the run-up to the 40th anniversary of the Award, the Foundation has been holding regional conferences since 2013 to foster closer cooperation among Laureates.
