50 Years of Occupation: Civil society in Israel and Palestine working for change

An Israeli-Palestinian and a Jewish-Israeli doctors are carrying a medication box in the West Bank.

The Association for the Right Livelihood Award in the Swedish Parliament (SÄRLA), together with Riksdagsbiblioteket, Diakonia and the Right Livelihood Award Foundation are pleased to invite you to a seminar exploring the shrinking space for civil society in Israel and Palestine in this 50th year of occupation.

Programme:

  • 12:00 – Lunch
  • 13:00 – Cecilia Magnusson, Swedish MP, Moderate Party – welcome remarks
  • Lecture and panel discussion with Ran Goldstein (Physicians for Human Rights–Israel), Mahmoud Abu Rahma (Al Mezan Center for Human Rights), and Joakim Wohlfeil (Diakonia) moderated by Johannes Mosskin (Right Livelihood Award Foundation)
  • Q&A
  • Maria Weimer, Swedish MP, Liberal Party – concluding remarks

The event will be held in English. The seats are limited and participation will be on the ‘first come, first served’ basis. Please bring a valid ID card. A light sandwich lunch will be served from 12:00 and the seminar will begin promptly at 13:00.
