Universidad Austral de Chile
The Right Livelihood College is a network of ten universities on all continents and one global university network.
Universidad Austral was founded in 1952 in Valdivia, a city located in the middle of Chile, with almost 28.000 inhabitants. It is one of the leading universities of Chile in matters of scientific research. Currently it has around 11.000 undergraduate and graduate students.
In November 2013, the Universidad Austral de Chile become the first Right Livelihood College Campus in Latin America. The Chilean RLA Laureate Manfred Max-Neef has had a long association with the university serving as the Rector and worked as professor at the Economics Institute until he passed away in august 2019.
