2018 Call for Proposals
Do you know any brave person or organisation who works in a visionary and exemplary manner to solve global problems? Take the chance to propose a candidate for the 2018 Right Livelihood Award, widely known as the “Alternative Nobel Prize”.
The Right Livelihood Award is not an award for the world’s political, scientific or economic elite, but an award for the people and their work and struggles for a better future. Everyone is welcome to propose candidates for the Right Livelihood Award and four recipients are chosen each year by an international jury after extensive research work.
“The Award contributed majorly to saving my life.”
/Helen Mack Chang (Guatemala)
Receiving the Right Livelihood Award can be a life-changing recognition of the Laureates’ work that opens many new doors and helps them achieve an even greater impact. For some Laureates, the award itself can help protect their life and liberty. We see our role as being the megaphone and shield for the Laureates, and provide them with long-term support.
Propose a candidate
We are seeking new candidates for the award from all walks of life who are leading change. The deadline for submitting a nomination is March 1, 2018. We do not apply any special categories – the world is complex, everything is connected. Health, environment, education, peace, culture, economy, justice, and democracy are some examples of issues our so far 170 Laureates from 69 countries work with.
Do not hesitate to contact us via email at email@example.com or by phone at +41 (0)22 555 0943 if you have questions about the nomination process.
As is stated in our guidelines, we kindly ask that proposals for the award remain confidential and will not be published, as publicising of a proposal will unfortunately result in disqualification.
