Almada & Snowden, parallel lives


In his text “Snowden and me”, 2002 Laureate Martín Almada highlights the links between his critique of the U.S. socio-political espionage in South America in the 1970s and 2014 Laureate Edward Snowden‘s disclosure of sensitive information on mass surveillance.

“I want to add my voice to those who struggle for a free and open society (…). We are becoming ever more vulnerable to unscrupulous uses of advanced technologies placed at the service of an imperial power,” said Almada.
