Right Livelihood Award Jury meets in Geneva
This week, the international Jury of the Right Livelihood Award is convening in Geneva for the first time to select this year’s recipients. The meeting is taking place at the new RLA Foundation Office located at La Maison de la Paix, at the heart of international Geneva. On this occasion, four Jury members – Dr Monika Griefahn, Chair of the Board, Ole von Uexküll, Executive Director, Anwar Fazal, 1982 RLA Laureate and Dr Rama Mani, RLA Special Advisor – met with the media and the public at the Geneva Press Club on 17 September to brief them about the Awards and the Foundation’s planned activities in Geneva.
“The new Right Livelihood Award Foundation Office in Geneva is an incredible opportunity because the global challenges that our Laureates address with their practical work are exactly the challenges that so many of you in Geneva focus on. We hope that the new office will serve as an Embassy for Right Livelihood Award Laureates from around the world to the UN and other international organisations in Geneva and look forward to impactful exchanges”, Dr Griefahn said.
