Alessandra is responsible for the administration and legal set up of the RLA office at the Maison de la Paix in Geneva, Switzerland. She is also involved in the preparations and logistics around events and meetings, and facilitates the participation of Laureates in Geneva events.
After obtaining a M.A. in International Law (University of Milan, 1993) and a Diploma in Development (Paris X and Geneva’s IUED, 1994), Alessandra spent more than 15 years working at the humanitarian response to complex emergencies in several African countries such as Kenya, Somalia, Angola, Cote d’Ivoire and Ethiopia. She has been working for U.N. agencies, donors and NGOs with a focus on child protection issues, in particular demobilization of child soldiers, child labour, and children victims of sexual exploitation.
