For the recipients, the internal network is one of the biggest advantages of the Right Livelihood Award.
As Laureate Frances Moore-Lappé (1987, USA) said, the powerful impact of the Award is that it “enables the Laureates to become aware of each other and to learn directly from each other”.
In order to facilitate networking among Right Livelihood Award Laureates, the Foundation has organised anniversary conferences in the past.
Between 2013-2018, the Foundation arranged regional conferences to strengthen the regional networks. During its 40th Anniversary year, the Foundation is arranging conferences in Bangkok (Thailand), Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) and Medellín (Colombia) on different themes and with the overall aim of contributing to the growing urgency of system change – a big shift to a just, peaceful and sustainable world.
